The Coudersport Service Club is a volunteer organization that manages and maintains the T-Ball, Inner City baseball, Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, as well as the Girls Softball teams in Coudersport. This year we are sponsoring 20 teams comprised of roughly 250 children! Boys and girls from Kindergarden to high school benefit from well run programs with dedicated coaches who promote teamwork, dedication, hard work, and most of all - fun! It is our belief that the success of our high school baseball and girls softball teams is due in part to the skills learned while playing in Service Club sponsored programs.
Things are really booming, but a program of this size takes a lot of work, time, and money. We have recently finished construction of a new (and much needed) practice field at the Alliance Church and the number of elementary school aged girls participating on our softball teams has exploded! Fortunately, due to the efforts of our volunteers and financial support of our local businesses, the Service Club is able to meet the challenge.
Would you like to become involved in youth baseball and softball in Coudersport? The Service Club is always looking for people who are willing to coach, umpire, help with field maintenence, fund raising, or work the concession stands. Whether or not you have a child involved we would love to have you join us. If you are interested contact Shawn Wolfinger at 274-8249 or stop by one of the fields and talk to one of the coaches or concession stand volunteers.
